We lost $200,000 in the 8.875% suborndinated notes. We cant find anyone that can advise us about
any of this. We dont know what to do about the settlement and dont know our rights. Received the notifcation 5 days before the holidays and no one is available to advise.
We don't like what we are reading in the Settlement.

I was Renee's landlord when she started up this business. Just to let everybody know, she lied over and over again about paying rent too. She finally tried passing bad checks which I later found out she has a history of doing. I still see my address as a place of business for her, although she was out by June 2011.

[...] County Goes After MERS - November 30th, 2011 – MERS. The Mortgage Electronic Registration System. When you buy a home now, your mortgage documents go to MERS. It used to be the case that whenever you signed for your mortgage, the record went to your county government, which in Florida’s case would be the county clerk. A recent lawsuit by Duval County Clerk Jim Fuller alleges that MERS was created by banks in order to avoid paying recording fees.
[...] A significant contributing factor to the financial meltdown of 2008 was deceptive loans, sold to homebuyers by dishonest mortgage brokers. A story on TheStreet discusses how these practices are continuing. These same brokers continue to operate under little if no oversight, due to gaping loopholes in regulations and a lack of an appointed director for the newly formed U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.Source: floridaconsumerlawyerblog.com [...]
